Our IMBOD team member
Dr Leone Pecorini Goodall (PhD awarded by the University of Edinburgh)
received the 2025 BRAIS Prize in the Study of Islam and the Muslim World. This international prize is awarded annually to one outstanding doctoral thesis. Because of the overwhelming amount of submissions, this year 2 PhD dissertations received the award.
Leone’s dissertation is entitled:
Sons and Daughters of the Caliphate: Succession Politics in the Marwanid and early Abbasid family (64-216/684-831).
